Island Biofuel was founded by Jim Naples, Jr., whose involvement in high profile building projects stimulated a passion for environmental preservation.
The opportunities afforded Jim through the active management of Jim Naples & son Construction (wth his father, Jim Naples, Sr) provided insights unproductive use of conventional waste… especially grease.
Their construction company wanted to run their heavy equipment more efficiently- over a three year period, Jim Naples & son construction converted to 100% Biodiesel for all of their vehicles.
Jim’s “Great Idea” developed over a two year period. “I realized that the conversion of farm products to ethanol and biodiesel — at least for the time being—was inefficient, and very expensive; so why not provide the “feedstock” that can make Biodiesel from yellow grease—and create a fuel from a reusable source. In this way—it will take a few years—we won’t be creating an imbalance in the world’s food supply.”
And that’s how Island Biofuel, and its sister initiatives like “We Make The World Better For You” and the distribution of Biodiesel got started. |
