Good for the Environment
The use of “B-20” in commercial vehicles can lower, significantly, levels of harmful emissions. A seven-year study conducted by the Medford, New Jersey, School District* determined that:
- Sulfur emissions are virtually eliminated
- A reduction of NOX by 34%
- Hydrocarbons, a leading source of health problems, reduced by 67%
- Carbon monoxide by 35%
- Particulate emissions (unburned particles by 47%)
A blend of “b-5” (5% Biodiesel) is being used in home heating fuels in the Northeast. Data to support the positive impact are not sufficient for publication, But extensive research by Brookhaven National labs indicates a cleaner burning system.
The emissions levels of commercial and municipal generators can be lowered significantly by the introduction of “B-20” as a fuel. Use of “B-20” eliminates the need for “stack scrubbers” hitherto, the only means to reduce harmful emissions.
