Island Biofuel is committed to clean air, and new age operational protocols that will contribute to a better environment.

The key to Island Biofuel’s mission is  the development of renewable fuel—i.e., fuel manufactured from existing sources, specifically yellow grease.  Yellow grease is the end product of cooking processes from food sites and is convertible to Biodiesel.  The benefit is that this form of biodiesel does not have to be manufactured from a farm crop, such as Soy, Canola or Palm, thus maintaining a stable food table.

What Is Biodiesel:  A Basic Definition.
Biodiesel is defined as the mono alkyl esters of long chain fatty acids derived from vegetable oils or animal fats—for use in compression-ignition (diesel) engines.  This specification is for pure (100%) Biodiesel prior to use or blending with petroleum based fuel (“Diesel”).

Biodiesel Blends are combinations of Biodiesl and Petroleum fuel (“Diesel”).

“B-20” is a blend of 20% Biodiesel and 80% petroleum fuel.  This configuration has been used extensively in commercial vehicles with positive results.
